Purpose of the Foundation

The benno barth foundation supports people in need and promotes contemporary art in accordance with the wishes of its founder, Benno Barth.

Benno Barth (1962–2007) already carried the desire to establish his own foundation during his lifetime. He lived alone and left no descendants. In his final will, he decreed that his real estate holdings, financial assets, and the income generated from them should be transferred into a charitable foundation.

One of the foundation’s primary goals is to support people in need in the greater Bressanone area — regardless of origin, religion, or other personal characteristics. According to the founder’s wishes, this support should be provided “as anonymously as possible and preferably benefit those who receive little or no assistance.”

Another purpose of the foundation is to support emerging artists in South Tyrol. This is primarily achieved through the funding of artistic study and working trips as part of the benno barth award funding prize – always in accordance with the foundation’s statutes and the applicable legal provisions.

The benno barth foundation is a registered Third Sector Organization (TSO) and carries out its activities on a non-profit basis and without commercial intent. Voluntary donations made to the benno barth foundation tso are tax-deductible for donors.

All incoming donations are used exclusively to support people in need in accordance with the foundation’s charitable purpose.

Foundation Board

In accordance with the founder’s wishes, the benno barth foundation is administered by a Foundation Board. Members of the Foundation Board are Filippa Barth (Chairwoman), Ivo Barth, Marion Piffer Damiani, Brigitte Gasser Da Rui, Moritz Leitempergher, Alexander Nitz, and Dietmar Pattis. The Supervisory Board consists of Josef Prader, Peter Winkler, and Richard Burchia.
